We were on the edge of our front row seats (and probably a little overwhelming with our enthusiasm) as we listened to Tom Ward, VP Digital Operations discussing online grocery pickup, grocery delivery, pickup towers and all things digital innovation at the recent WalStreet Speaker Series hosted on September 6 by the Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce. Soapbox was proud to serve as recap sponsor for the session because… well, content creation is kind of our jam.
Day of Inspiration
We are proud to be members of Women With A Mission, a giving society supporting Mercy Health Foundation of Northwest Arkansas. The organization does vital fundraising work to purchase equipment and support essential healthcare needs for our community. We recently joined other WWAM members from across the Mercy system for a Day of Inspiration on September 12 – 13 in St. Louis, Missouri. The event featured keynote speaker Leigh Anne Tuohy (the inspiration behind the movie The Blind Side), three time Olympic gold medal track and field athlete Jackie Joyner-Kersee and a panel of other inspiring female leaders. We loved serving as wifi sponsors (naturally) for the 20th anniversary of the NWA Business Women’s Conference in Rogers, Arkansas on September 18. This inspiring event convened 1,500 business women (and men) for a day of dynamic presenters including world champion athlete, author and adventurer Rebecca Rusch as the keynote speaker. We were privileged to host and sponsor Arkansas native Monique B. Jones for both her breakout session at the conference and an intimate gathering at Soapbox to talk legacy, leadership and corporate culture with our team. And the icing on the cake (or gold bubble in the champagne) was the chance to introduce our friends Leslie Zanoff and Kasie Yokley of 3W Magazine for their hysterical, envelope pushing session on Speaking Your Truth.

The influencers we engage for our client campaigns come from every nook and cranny of the United States. On September 20, we gathered 30 savvy social mavens for a #SoapboxSipAndShare at The Filling Station in Kansas City, Missouri. Our friends from Tom’s Town Distillery (opening locations soon in New York, Las Vegas and Nashville) joined the fun and we can neither confirm nor deny that we laid eyes on their gorgeous new embargoed bottle of prohibition-style mumble mumble. We rubbed shoulders (literally) with fashion, fitness, parenting and lifestyle content creators who represent some of the best and brightest voices in social media today. Knowing our influencers makes us tick… so we know exactly who we can hire to knock it out of the park for our client campaigns.
Shopper Marketing Brilliance
We joined our friends at Supplier Community for a full day of presenters, panelists and best practices at the Shopper Marketer’s Tool box event on September 26 at The Record in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas. Soapbox President Beth Stephens joined an expert panel to cover trends and topics tied to social media and influencer marketing. The #SMTB18 discussion spanned strategy, content creation, e-commerce, social spend, conversion and measurement. Missed the event? We’re happy to share our notes from class!
Under The Influence
Word on the green is that we may or may not have had the most popular destination at the Sharing & Caring Golf Tournament on September 27 at Dogwood Hills in Bella Vista, Arkansas. The gang served up bodacious bloody marys and shared our signature energy with golfers representing an array of merchants and electronics suppliers.
